Air Botswana

Air Botswana is your model quality African airline. It operates scheduled domestic and regional flights from its main airport, Sir Seretse Khama International Airport.

The company came to being in 1988 as a national carrier. Prior to that Air Botswana operated under different names and in addition there were only foreign or private airlines that were in operation.

Between 1966 and 1969 it was called Botswana National Airways, and then changed to Botswana Airways Corporation between 1970 and 1971.

On 2nd July 1972 Air Botswana Pty Ltd was founded, and operated a regional round-trip route of Gaborone-Manzini-Johannesburg-Harare-Gaborone, as well domestic flights to Francistown, Maun and Selibe Phikwe.


Botswana airports

The main airport for Botswana is the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport.

The airport which was opened on the 10th December 1984 s your gateway into all other parts of the country and regional offices.

There are other two major airports in Maun and kasane. Wheras SSKA is your gateway into Botswana and the region, Maun and Kasane Airports take you closer to the Okavango and Chobe tourism areas respectively.

Botswana has many other smaller airports.
